What is a Royal Flush in Poker?

Poker

A royal flush is the highest hand possible in Poker. This hand consists of five cards of the same rank, in any order. If you have two pairs of four of a kind, you’ll have a royal flush. If you have five of a kind and have the high card, you’ll have a straight flush. In Poker, a straight flush is also considered a royal flush. However, a straight flush can’t beat a royal flush of the same suit.

After the “flop,” a dealer will show everyone five cards. This gives each player seven total, including two personal cards and five community cards. Depending on the position on the table, players can draw replacement cards to try to improve their hand. This usually happens during or after the betting round. If you’ve got a good hand, you’ll want to bet in order to force out a weaker player who might have a better hand. If your hand isn’t that strong, you might be bluffing.

The name of Poker comes from a group of earlier games. It is believed that a man named Jonathan H. Green attached the name “poker” to a game he saw being played on a Mississippi riverboat. In his description, the game was played by two to four players with only Aces. The first game of poker featured only a single player, while later versions included multiple players and more than a dozen cards. This game’s popularity spread rapidly, and even today, it attracts thousands of players.
