A slot (also called a gap, hole, slit, or aperture) is a position within a group, series, sequence, or set. The term is also used for a specific position of employment or a vacancy in an organization. It can also refer to a time or period of activity, such as an allotted time to work on a project, or an appointment.<\/p>\n
A player places cash or, in “ticket-in, ticket-out” machines, a paper ticket with a barcode, into a slot on the machine to activate it. Then, the machine draws and rearranges symbols according to a pay table, which lists how many credits the player earns if the machine’s symbols match up on a winning line.
