Poker is a card game in which players try to beat the other players by having the best hand. The winning hand is based on the cards that have been dealt, as well as the betting decisions of the other players.<\/p>\n
To play poker, each player must place an ante, which is usually a small amount of money (our games are typically a nickel). Once all the antes have been placed, the dealer will deal two cards to each player and keep them secret from everyone else.<\/p>\n
Once all the antes are placed, each player can then see their cards and choose to bet. They can fold, which means that they don’t want to bet on this round and will drop out of the game, or they can call, which means that they match the bet.<\/p>\n
Betting rounds occur in a clockwise fashion and continue until the betting round ends or all the antes have been called or folded. During each betting interval, the first player to make a bet is said to bet, a player who matches that bet is said to call, and a player who bets more than the previous bettor is said to raise.<\/p>\n
A good poker player should learn to read other players and be able to respond accordingly. This is achieved by learning their tells \u2013 eye movements, idiosyncrasies, hand gestures, betting behavior etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
